5/6 A Starts Term 2 with a new look.
As you all may know, we had to leave our classroom last week so it could be painted. If you were interested in a sneak preview then look no further than this page. Curriculum Information
This term both 5/6 A and 5/6 B will be studying plants. The unit is titled ‘Plants in Action’. One of the main focuses of the unit is for students to write an investigative question, carry out that investigation in the form of an experiment and present their information at the conclusion of the unit. They will during the course of the unit learn about having a control for their experiment and how to write and follow a procedural text.
Starting off this term I have also changed the way I have put together spelling lists for the students in the class. They are now given a spelling quota of words for the week, based on a series of tests that they were given over the first week. They size of the quota increases after the students get 100% two weeks in a row. Feel free to ask what your child’s quota is for the week as they bring their words home to learn.
