Our school has been fortunate enough to have received funds to employ a chaplain for the school. Caroline Lowry was appointed to the position of chaplain.
Caroline’s greatest concern has always has been the children of the community. She has been working with children for many years, particularly as a member of the local Baptist church. Caroline has been involved in Sunday School, Kids’ Clubs and Holiday Clubs, Friday night youth group and R.E. Late last year she felt the need to stretch herself by taking on further work with children whom she loves to care for.
Although her duties are set by the Primary School, Caroline is employed by Scripture Union Queensland which isn’t associated with any one particular Church and her role as Chaplain will involve simply being there for the kids.
She will be involved in pastoral care of the school community and give spiritual and ethical support in an informal manner allowing all to feel comfortable, safe and supported.
