Following are our curriculum offerings:

· Specific Literacy and Numeracy core learnings

· Integrated Key Learning Areas ( SOSE- Studies of Society and the Environment, Science,

· Technology, The Arts, HPE- Health and Physical Education)

· Specialist Teachers for the following- Library, Music, Instrumental Music, Physical Education, LOTE

Language Other than English (Indonesian)

At Toogoolawah State School we have the following learning support

· Special Education Class ( currently we support students with Speech Language Impairment,

· Hearing Impairment, ASD- Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Impairment)

· Support Teacher Learning Difficulties – This area considers all aspects in relation students at risk, both those who have learning difficulties and those who need extension

· Reading Recovery

· Guidance Officer – most Wednesdays each week

· Speech Language Pathologist – Fortnightly

A wide variety of extra-curricula activities are on offer to our students:

· Instrumental Music Program – we are very proud of our brass and woodwind concert band. We look forward to the new and more sophisticated noise we can make now we have our drum kit.

· Athletics

· Cross country

· Australasian schools competition

· Readers Cup

· Gala Days – cross district and regional

· Camps and excursions

· Interschool sport

· Get Active Program

Computers are vital to all learning.

· Banks of computers may be accessed in each classroom and used to support learning in each Key Learning Area

· A bank of computers are also available in the Library. We have specifically timetabled regular Information Literacy lessons this year. These lessons have a specific focus of technology and technological skills. They are directly related to the Integrated units taught in each class.

· Each year we intentionally develop our infrastructure, connectivity and programs to improve Information, Communication and Technology learning opportunities for all members of our school community.

  • We are involved in the Computers for Teachers Program.
