Welcome

               Welcome to Toogoolawah State School.

I have had the pleasure of being principal of Toogoolawah State School since 2004. This time has been joyous for me as I have enjoyed working with a great staff who are dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning, a dedicated band of Parent and Citizens (P & C) and supportive community. I am extremely aware that within one hundred years of educational history, I am the last in a very long line of distinguished and dedicated Principals, (or Head Masters as previously known) and am privileged to join their ranks.

Within these 100 years there have been many changes to the face of Public Education, but it is also true to say that there always will be the one remaining constant, that is the provision of quality education as teachers and students come together in schools and classrooms. As long as that continues there will always be similarities regardless of time.

While teaching practices and methodologies have changed over the time, teaching students the basics in reading, writing and arithmetic are still our priority. Teachers still spend a lot of time teaching and guiding students in the ways of social norms and in developing relationships with others.

Over the past 100 years Toogoolawah State School has valued and strived hard to provide quality educational opportunities for all. As our motto states 'Victor In Ardius' which means victory through hardship, we will continue to uphold the proud educational traditions previously set.

Toogoolawah has a student population of 192 students. We have 7 Primary school classes a full time Prep class and an integrated Special Education Class. Classes are both single year level and composite mixes.

Our school has access to Specialist teacher services including; Instrumental Music, Music, Cultural Studies, Reading Recovery, Library, Physical Education, Special Education services and Support Teacher Learning Difficulties.

Toogoolawah State School prides itself in having a well balanced, modern curricula framework that supports outcomes-based education.
